In addition to the many cultural activities area residents enjoy, there are numerous opportunities to attend sport activities. Of course, Friday night football is big in the Texas Panhandle, West Texas A & M University boasts the Lone Star conference football champions and the Amarillo Dusters are the area’s arena football team. The Amarillo Gorillas Hockey plays a full schedule at the Amarillo Civic Center. The area is filled with many talented and winning volleyball and basketball teams.

Educational opportunities abound with West Texas A & M University, Amarillo College, Wayland Baptist University and Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.

Although located in the most northern part of Texas, the Amarillo TX real estate market enjoys sunny and party sunny days 351 days of the year. Our average temperature is a pleasing 57.2º and averages a little more than 15 inches of snow each year and 20.41 inches of rain.
